Hi all...
had a little water leak and have had a few issues with the fuse box, although i now have it running, I am wanting to get a new fuse box...
I have seen one on TVR-parts.com

https://tvr-parts.com/tvr-parts/part-details/tvr-m...

But its not a straight swap, any ideas on where I can get one that is? Plus is that the going rate for a new box?

thanks all smile

I feel your pain. I have recently had to get another fuse board and what I can tell you is:

1. The fuse boards are TVR-specific. As well as Griffs/Chims the same board was also fitted to Cerbs
2. There is no supply of direct replacement new ones. As you have already found out, the ones from TVR Parts need a fair bit of fettling to make fit.
3. People will tell you that it's actually a VW/Audi fuse board. It isn't. It is similar to VW/Audi part no 443 941 822A but it's not the same. I suspect that this is what TVR Parts are selling (but they won't quote a part number).
4. The TVR part no is. 89 60 81 000.
5. The only way I could find to get the proper part was from one of the TVR-breakers. I ended up paying £160 inc p&p from TVR Glen ( 07886 097954 ) for a good 2nd hand one.

There is one on ebay at the moment from Douglas Valley breakers: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1999-TVR-Cerbera-Speed-S...

It may be worth your while to split the fuse-box apart and see if it is repairable

It's always worth calling Douglas Valley Breakers when you want something specific. They break cars faster than they either advertise parts or update their website. And they seem genuine, positive and honest, at least they did when I bought bits off them

As I previously mentioned, it could work out worthwhile to dismantle the fuse-box and check it over before throwing money at the problem

Sadly Glen's price has jumped to £195!!!

Is it relatively easy to open it up and give it a clean up?

Here is a short video of someone splitting a VW fusebox while it's still connected to the vehicle
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fY2Jqxdi55M
I wouldn't even attempt splitting one while in the vehicle, if you remove the fusebox you can do a proper job on a bench/table
All the video proves is that the fuseboxes do split, you will be able to see all the clips that hold it together when it's out of the vehicle
Google may show some more help
