Things seem to be disappearing around here?
Poor old Penelope seems to rattle peoples cages some what, with the "superior to you" attitude - No one minds technical input for an issue, but putting down other peoples good ideas / advice as simply wrong is his (or hers for that matter) speciality that wins few friends. Act in haste- repent in leisure methinks...

We can but hope she tires of the TVR Forums before too long and finds another group to plagued help with her endless theory and advice but apparent total lack of practical experience. wink

Just to round things off.

Not withstanding Penelope Omega's input I have done the mod supplied by ChimpOnGas, very easy once you have gone through the b++ls ache of getting the dash top off.

Many thanks for that and at least the car doesn't look like its been pinched with bits of hot wire hanging out of it.

Will be leaving France for Blighty on Friday looking forward to a good blast up the Autoroute in the sunshine.

Many thanks one and all

Well done sending the OP your information

Well that proves you won't need my instructions then.

A: Because you're clearly an expert

And

B: Because you don't even own a TVR
YHM.

Well, ChimponGas, I could certainly do with a little bit of help from you as well.
Don't know yet what my starter problem is but my immobilized has always been troublesome.
Can you send me your mod instructions as well?
Thanks and regards
Philippe

Hi Philippe, you'd need to PM so I have your email address as there are photos attached to my instructions, unfortunately I can't attach images to a PM.

True but there is quick and dirty, and quick and dirty. Just jumping 12v volts from the starter cable to the solenoid is probably not the best way to drive the car 600 miles home. I read on these pages before that is a straightforward way of bypassing the immobilser
Had to do this with my Evo V

You don't half get some funny looks when you whip out a length of wire and start the car with the bonnet open.

It was the immobiliser. Horrible thing that was badly affected by the police radio transmitter too. Was a right pain to remove, having to trace and resplice every cable.
