Just a few little jobs..................
Discussion
I've bought myself a 400 Pre-Cat, it's had a lot of big work done and seems to generally run okay but there is the inevitable and ever growing list of little things to tart around with..................
No.1 get shot of the tape and jubilee clips and fit heat shrink and proper fuel pipe clips. Suppose I'm going to have to delve underneath and find the other ends tomorrow.
The "bath sealer" has got to go, hopefullty I can manage a neater job?
Bonnet rollers were seized and covered in overspray (I hate overspray), bolts snapped but a bit of careful drilling and tapping got things sorted.
Replaced the broken Anderson connector, no leads with the car so chopped up some spare jumpleads and fitted other half of plug. Anyone know what the bolt with the nylon spacer in the back of the clamp plate is for?

That bathroom silicon looks vile........and will be fun getting it off/out !
I would go for regular nitrile hoses (913 something, can't remember) but non braided (I'm a bit paranoid about this, must admit...)
That thingy on the anderson clamp does not look 'original', but then again it ain't in the way (unless it bugs you....)
Pic of the car would be good ....

Normally I would, I have Gates Barricade on my other cars, but this braided stuff is brand new so will do "for now"...... especially as it runs right back to fuel filter (flow) and tank (return).Broken return spring on driver door open lever repaired, what a ball ache, exhaust off to un-couple handbrake cable to allow lever to go up far enough to lift centre console.
Exhaust back on with a nice "Mikelor" clamp rather than those horrible U bolt type that crimp the pipe.
This weekends little jobs are fit Brian's mirror mount adaptors and replace worn door hinge bushes, couple of hours tops

You have done some top notch repairs here and your methods/information will sure help othersNo.1 get shot of the tape and jubilee clips and fit heat shrink and proper fuel pipe clips. Suppose I'm going to have to delve underneath and find the other ends tomorrow.

phillpot, how are finding the pre-cat Griffith driving experience in comparison with your S?
Hi Dave, apologies for the delay in replying, in a nut shell it's very different!I'm probably not the best at explaining things but, like the Chimaera (am I allowed to say that?) I had a few years ago, the Griff feels stiffer, more taught ? Possibly partly an illusion because it has a complete body and not just a tub with a flip front? Maybe the chassis is better, stiffer and of course the rear suspension is a little more sophisticated.
Obviously the extra BHP is quite noticeable but not as much as the buckets of torque!
Somehow it feels very different sat in it, I don't think the "cabin" is particularly bigger but everything is in slightly different positions, enough to make driving it a very different experience............... but still my my little S
Mirror mounts fitted, all quite straight forward and door hinge bushes replaced, same bushes but different set-up to the S. Fiddly but no real problem. Lubed all the window runners and mechanism while I had access and sorted the inevitable stripped self tappers into fibreglass.
Been sorting a few other little issues and doing a bit of "tarting up", update soon
