Hello, i have a question... i search the size of standard valvles (intake and exhaust) about the original heads of TVR Griffith 400, 450 and 500, and what camshaft have the Griffith 400 and 450. I search this info because i don't understand why the tvr v8 have a lot of horsepower respect v8 of range rover. ok that tvr v8 are engine with high ratio compression.... but i want understand if the heads and camshaft installed on tvr v8 are the same intalled in to range rover classic and p38 v8. smile
Thank's fot all info!

I don't think they are the same.. Esepcially the cam. The Range Rover needs a very different powerband to a TVR.

At its most basic the stock heads where used with just a cam change and a re chip to the ECU on the 3.9's. Point being here is you can get significant power gain by allowing the engine to rev' higher than the 5400 max it can reach in the Range Rover, so the cam and chip change release the extra power at the higher RPM, but you do loose some of the low speed torque in the process- not that this matters in a lightweight car like the TVR.
