So, First service in my ownership is due and we have a list of things to look at.

Coolant leak, likely from radiator, investigate and replace water pump/stat at the same time.
Oil leaks, various engine and drive train (may require Gbox out, if so inspect clutch)
handbrake doesn't work well and rear disks dont seem to be getting a lot of use
Wire in oil temp sender to new gauge in dash
Fit USB charger socket under dash in unused hole
Service to replace HT leads and all fluids
MOT

Looks like I will be getting a good intro into TVR ownership, I'm thinking I'll not get change from £500 rofl
Anybody want to guess the end cost ? I can post a piece of broken car to the person who gets closest.

In the mean time If anybody wants to post a picture of a cat or tell me it will be fine and nothing else will come up it would be appreciated.

Welcome to TVR ownership, your £500 guesstimate depends on who's doing the service. But I would imagine that at a TVR related dealership, you would not see change out of £1000 on a good day.

Griffith's are great cars to own/drive, once all problem areas have been sorted I am sure that you will forget about the cost's!

Jody at Python Racing. I plan to help him get a few of the big bits off this Saturday and then leave it with him for the week.

I will take the £1000, I expect we can get close to that on parts especially if we end up replacing the clutch.

You're in good hands according to a friend who has used him thumbup

When you are up and running pop along to one of the Essex meets we have:

2nd Saturday of month at White Elm garden centre, Bicnacre. Starts between 8:30-9:00 and ends when we all go home. Good brekkie available as well.

3rd Thursday of the month at The Lodge Pub on the South Woodham Ferrers road. PM me if you want more details and I'll have you added to the FB group if you are not already aware of it smile

Cheers Yex.

I've already been to one of the White Elm meets, well me and my son drove over and we sat on the next table until we got up the courage to say hello !

I've also said Hi on the face book group and will be sure to come along one of these days.

So far camshaft and bearings have been added to the list...

Its possible I may break my £500 target.

Nah.. I think we are still good.

Just needs a few gaskets, plugs and a filter and its MOT time.

How did it all go in the end ?
Would you recommend Python racing? I was thinking of using them and it would be good to go on recommendation. Many thanks

Hi, This thread is half tongue in cheek. It was always a big job, it just got bigger !

Would I recommend Jody, yes I would. He is very knowledgeable and cares a great deal about what he does. Given my location I would happily use him for the majority of TVR related work.
