The plate and bearing are readily available it appears, the issue is the cover. Until it comes apart of course I don't know if the plate is worn or the cover is weak and getting a specialist to do a job of two halves isn't straightforward.

Impressed/terrified you paid £944 for a clutch!

Anyone with the RG clutch fitted?

Lol yes I have the RG 500 (Helix) clutch not the £944 AP one. I’ve yet to put the engine back in yet though

So a very informative couple of calls this morning.

The "regular" Helix cover 60-2499 as used by some suppliers and listed in the Helix catalogue has a clamp load of 1200kg and a release pressure of 120-150kg

Helix cover 60-2498 has a clamp load of 790kg and a release pressure of circa 110kg but I suspect this is not often offered for TVRs due to the torque.

Racing Green's Helix cover has a clamp load of 1200kg but a reduced release pressure of <100kg due to complaints about pedal feel.

Does anybody know how the original AP compares on release load to see whether comparable?

Cheers
