Hi all,

Would appreciate some info/advice.

The drivers side sun visor, specifically the plastic collar arrangement inside the visor, on my 94 Griffith have decided to split, providing no support.

This has resulted in one floppy visor, not ideal.

I may be mistaken, but are these items from a Peugeot 205? I can't see the TVR version online anyway (tvr-parts, they only list the S series)

Anyone?

In the Griffith parts list above ^ they are listed as Pug 206 parts.

Pug 206 production began in 1998. I assume this is just a best fit sunvisor

Thanks for the replies.

Looking at the fixing arrangements it doesn't look like the 206 items will fit (my car is a 94).

A quick check on fleabay shows that the 205 visor looks more like it, I'll have to remove the existing visor and give it a quick visual.

I'll let you know how I get on.

The rear view mirror is the Peugeot part; the sun visors are MKII Escort. Only certain models are black on both sides though. Mine are cream on one side and black on the other, which suits the interior better anyway.
I picked a mint pair off FleaBay last year for £20. Better buy quick though; the Escorts in some cases are worth more than TVRs now.

D And C trim in blackpool recovered mine last year whilst a new good was fitted. Top job and very friendly chaps. Worth a call if you are stuck.

I'd thought I would resurrect this thread, hopefully there is a fresh or new alternative to the legacy Ford options.

Another Thread resurrection!

After picking up my Griffith a couple of weeks ago I noticed my passenger sun visor was off and was left in the rear. This is because it had the same floppy symptoms as the OP. So off in search of some new visors I go. My search led me to this Griffith Alternative Parts page which confirms that the visors are from a Mk1 / Mk2 Ford Escort or any era Capri. (as someone said above, the rear view mirror is from a Peugeot 205 / 206 / 306 - I had to get one of these too).

I found a set of the black / cream visors from a Capri at a Capri breakers thankfully. It seems they are getting harder to find though as this was the only pair he had left.

So now I need to fit them. It appears the fitting is different from the Fords which I assume is due to the removable roof. The black plastic brackets are the same but the ford seems to use an allen head screw that is driven from inside the cabin using these:

Simple to fit. However, the Griffith seems to use flat head bolts that go in from the outside, under where the removable roof section meets the windscreen. As such, they seem to have a small nut (M6?) that is squeezed in to the black plastic bracket on the visor.

1. Can anyone confirm the size of the bolt / nut? Is it M6?

2. Is there any bewtter way to fit these visors other than forcing the nut in to the black plastic bracket?

Just to update on the above, I picked up some new M5 x 20mm nuts and bolts (with a philips head instead of the flat head that were on the ones in the car) and the job was pretty straight forward. Make sure to use sealant on the bolts to ensure there are no leaks.

I now have two tone, black and cream Capri sun visors on my Griff!
