TVR Griffith parts, steering wheel, Leven kits.
Discussion
Hi all, new here, and any info much appreciated. I want to try and replace a few bits on my newly acquired Griffith 500, the previous owner has fitted a wooden steering wheel, and I'd like to replace that with the original black Momo wheel. Also, it has the plastick column sticks, which I'd also like to replace with aluminium ones, ditto switch buttons, and handbrake lever.
I've seen a Chimera black metal wheel advertised, and was wondering if that would fit my Griffith? Also, looks like new Leven kits are drying up, does anyone know of a good source of secondhand parts apart from the dreaded EvilBay?
One last question, there are three little stickers on my Griffith, plastic UK badges about an inch long, I want to remove them, I was thinking of using a hair drier on a light heat, but I'm a bit scared of damaging the paintwork, any ideas about this would be very welcome.

I think I'm right in saying the original wheel isn't Momo. It's a Personal Grinta, like this:

I'm also pretty sure that the momo and personal bolt patterns aren't the same, so if you have a momo wooden wheel you'll either need a new boss or you'll have to adapt the existing one.
If I'm wrong about any of this, I'm sure someone more knowledgeable will correct me.

Hi,
The Chimaera Steering Wheel does fit, what wooden wheel do you have since, I might be interested in a swap.
Thanks all, for your replies. The Chimaera Steering Wheel does fit, what wooden wheel do you have since, I might be interested in a swap.
Here's the existing wheel...
I must say that I'm waiting for my car to be delivered, it's being prepared in the workshop. Hopefully it'll be here this week!
I just want to make sure that if I do go ahead with the changes then I have the bits to hand.
I could well be interested in a swap, but there seems to be some debate about the fitting, I'll have to enquire if it needs an adaptor. At least I have a friendly and knowledgable TVR specialist near me, he may be able to help with fitting it.
I'm also on the look out for an aluminium dash, I'm just not a fan of all this woodwork!

Hi, Many thanks for the consideration of a swap, but your wheel is unfortunately not the one that I am seeking. But the good news for you, is that you have the correct bolt configuration to fit the standard TVR Leather steering Wheel. Sorry, but best wishes with your search. Here's the existing wheel...

There is a lady on the TVR Griffith Facebook page who supplies the stalks and handbrake you desire.
Assuming it's the same lady I purchased a complete set for my Chim, around £65 for the lot if I recall (stalks, handbrake, column adjust).Very pleased with them.
As pointed out above, Momo wheels have a different stud fit to the originals - I had to get an adapter plate to fit the wooden Momo wheel in mine. I believe Nardi wheels are the same pattern as the original so your wooden one could well be one of those.
Edited to add: your's definitely looks like a Nardi wooden Personal to me, should be worth a few quid? I looked at them before buying my wooden Momo.

Thanks folks, been away so haven't had a chance to reply.
I'm not sure about the steering wheel now, I may keep it, I'll see how it feels and aesthically, if I get used to it. My girlfriend said I should keep it even if I decide to get the original, just in case god forbid, the car has to be sold in the future, I can then offer the buyer the choice of both wheels.
Thanks for the mention of the lady on Facebook, I'll look her up.
Looking forward to delivery of the car, should be middle of next week!
