Hi All
Hopefully the link above works. Advert on PH.
Just wondering if anyone has been to see the green 4 litre griffith for sale at Stock Sportscars near Chelmsford. Been for sale for quite a while but appears to have a chassis in vgc and lots of service history.

Seems like a very good price, 4 litre though, and 89,000 miles, wheels are nice, but I'd rather have the originals, but it's still, a very good price.Hi All

Mine also had a chassis rebuild, and the cam was replaced at 71,000, it's a 5 litre with 81,000 miles, but it was £22k, 6 months warranty. That one is a gorgeous colour though, go and drive it and see what you think. It also has those annoying Union Jack stickers under the indicators, now that really could really be a potential deal breaker

The OZ Racing wheels on the car were an Optional Extra when purchased new. A refurbished set of those wheels are as rare as hens teeth and command a high price. Some people love them and some don't. It's a continuing detective excersize finding out what was and wasn't an optional extra on TVR's! and the subject of many a heated debate at club meetings. That car looks good though, love the colour, the most important thing...

It's a question to ask the seller, but no matter what the answer is, I've always thought that the OZ wheels (or Oz lookalikes) really suit Griffs.
Price isn't too excessive for a chassis restored car from a dealer either IMHO.
Thanks for the comments guys. I really like the wheels. Not bothered about the stickers beneath the side indicators. Does seem a good price though the mileage is quite high. I have previously owned 2 chimaera's and currently own a wedge and tuscan. Might go and see if I can trade in the wedge.
I was hoping someone on here had been to see it. It has been on sale at least 4/5 months IIRC, which seems surprising and is not always a good sign.

Hi.
The Griff you mention looks a lovely car at a sensible price.
With the chassis having been restored I don’t see how you can go wrong at that money.
Is 89k high mileage for a 26 year old car? My year 2000 has done 76k but is far better mechanically than many lower milegaevcras I went to look at!
The wheels look like standard 15/16” OZ to me and Inagree really suitbthe car. A HiSpek 4 pot upgrade will fit under standard wheels if you go for the 283mm disc version, bigger ones are available..........
Regards Chris.

On reflection I wouldn't worry about the mileage, mine has done 81,500 and it's as sweet as anything, but it did have a new cam in 2011 at 71,000
Go and drive it, that's the bottom line I suppose, if you really want this particular one, and it ticks all your boxes, or is it the price that's the main attraction? It may be worth spending a bit extra for something that makes you less uncertain about buying it, also, what sort of warranty are they offering? Also the 5 litre cars are the more desirable, and the price they are asking isn't that much less than what you'd pay for a reasonable 500, you should be able to get something for around 18/20k if you look around and wait a bit.

Nice car, I’d have to change the headlamp pods back though.
Didn't notice that, that's not a cheap job to put those right. The engine bay looks very manky, but it's all cosmetic stuff. I'd go in with an offer, but TBQH, there are a lot more desirable Griff's out there. But who am I to say, if this is the car you want, and you like the look if it....drive it! Book a test drive, what have you got to loose?Gassing Station | Griffith | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
