Body off and stripped - best way to remove glue and dirt
Discussion
I am working on rebuilding a 1992 griffith. I stripped all the interior and wiring out of the body and want to get rid of the residual glue and other dirt before exterior painting and re-assembly.
Anyone have good advice on how the inner body could be thoroughly cleaned so dirt, dust, and residual glue gets removed? Anyone tried high-pressure, hot water cleaning?

I would think a hand scraper and wire brush. Possibly brushes on a drill or angle grinder.
Problem with a pressure washer type device is the glue is rubber (ish) and stuff just bounces of. A small patch of sikaflex on a steel chassis will defeat even an industrial grit blaster.
I hope you took plenty of photos as the position of the 10mm thick underlay is critical to getting a decent finish to your carpets.

When re-carpeting my Griffith many years ago I bought some special glue remover from the carpet supplier.
I found it almost useless.
Ordinary white spirit ( as used to thin oil paint and clean brushes) was far more efficient.
It pongs a bit for a while but the smell soon goes away even after removing surplus glue from carpets.
