Hi All

I'm looking for any help locating a 1982 Blue Tasmin 280i, registration BNW 329X.

This was my Dad's car for many years in the 80s and 90s before he had to sell it due to a disability stopping him from driving it.

A quick check on the DVLA site shows it was last taxed/MOT'd in 2014/15. There were also a few posts on here at the same time when someone was restoring it but nothing since.

I'm really hoping it hasn't gone to the breakers yard and that someone knows what happened to it since 2015.

Thanks

Tom

Hi Tom, I am the ex-owner who wrote the threads on this car all those years ago.

I don't own it anymore, once I had it on the road and had a years use from it I had to sell to fund another TVR project. The bad news is the buyer was from Finland I think and I don't know if he still has it. There is a dyno video on youtube from when he first got it home so you may be able to contact him through there? I will try and find it for you

If you want to PM me, I have found the guys name and contact details who I sold the car to thumbup

Cosmetically it was in a real state, but drove fantastically and is definitely still one of the best sounding cars I have ever owned

I managed to find the YouTube video of the dyno test you mentioned. The guy still has the car and I have dropped him an email. Will update this thread if I hear back!

Thanks

Reply below (removed email address and name for obvious reasons). He also sent a link to a couple of photos which I will share if he agrees.

Hello Tom!

Nice to hear from you!

I will reply just briefly, as I am busy at the work now:

I did register and tax this car few years ago, and it is now with Finnish plates. I have done mainly mechanical servicing and repairs to keep it road worthy. Paint is dull / matt, and I think needs a respray. Mechanically it seems a bit tired, and I think the resent owners sold it because of various small problems. Maybe its' last time of glory was, when your Dad had it. It has mostly sat in my garage (warm) with my other TVRs. This is my favourite Fixed Head Coupe Tasmin model, and I think it is the second of this type from the line. As I mentioned, this is not my only TVR, so I do not say, I will not sell it ever.

Nice one Tom thumbup

I will email you over my number if you want to call and chat about the car, and I can talk you through what it was like 5 / 6 years ago when I had it.

It sounds like it has not been worked on much so it will realistically need pulling apart and restoring properly I would imagine.

ETA

I have just tried to send a private message but it says your profile does not allow receiving emails?
