Don't forget for a bit more go there is also the 400(250) gas flowed engine.
I see the add for the one you are thinking about says it's 250BHP, check out the engine number to confirm.
Thanks, I wonder if this is just because it’s a 240 with exhaust and valve mods. Do you happen to know what engine number range it should be in?I see the add for the one you are thinking about says it's 250BHP, check out the engine number to confirm.

Pre-cat 4ltr cars were offered a factory upgade, 10BHP, with gas flowed heads and the engine number on the VIN plate would end with a "G". I don't know if a G was added to the engine block, I've never looked on mine but the VIN has the letter G.
The engine number i believe is 47A40P***GS

The owner advertised it on here recently at what appeared a very fair price. Will be interesting to see how it does. Many precats are coming to market with their original chassis and outriggers. Did I read that early Griffs had better rust protection or, even if true, are they likely to be hiding some horrors that only a body lift would reveal?
Given the mileage that it hasn't done since 2007 and given that there is a picture of a double radiator in one of the 169(!) photos, it seems to have spent most of its lift sitting in a centrally heated garage.
It's a pity that the seller hasn't cleaned the grubby seats, replaced the rusty boot gas strut, refurbished some of the wheels and sorted out the tear in the door card. These spoil an otherwise mint condition looking car. And who let the dealer put their name and address on the door sill tread-plates? It's bad enough that some manufacturers let you personalise them, but the dealer's details. They need to go in the bin!

I placed an early bid and since noticed that a previous owner is bidding. If they want their old car back I'm not sure I have the heart to bid against them. It's a pity that the seller hasn't cleaned the grubby seats, replaced the rusty boot gas strut, refurbished some of the wheels and sorted out the tear in the door card. My friends say I have some sort of illness! But they do sound good and I do prefer the earlier black dials surrounds over the silver later ones.
