Sorry if this question has been asked before, can't seem to find it anywhere.

On a standard 500 griff has anyone removed the main cat. I've been told that it is a easy job to do, just wondering how it effects the sound and performance.
Also would the engine run ok or would it need setting up properly. cheers

Requires new manifold, ECU rechip. Does virtually nothing for more BHP. Increases noise but can make the car virtually impossible to get through MOT emmisions. Requires notification of insurers. Costs about £1000 ish to buy all the bits if you want to have the ability to replace the cat if needed for MOT time.
