Stone hit one of my immaculate lamps...now shattered...
me and the lamp

Where's the best place to get a new one or pair?

Any ideas how to guard them against this again?

When the same thing happened to my Griff I was loathe to pay the price my local dealer wanted and obtained the name of the manufacturer from the Alternative TVR parts list on the web. If you call Valeo on 0181 297 1439 they should be able to help you out. With the money you save treat yourself to a pair of Carbodisks from Digibits, www.digibits.co.uk

These are polycarbonate disks specifically designed for the Griff, they've improved the (small) 'velcro' fitting and so now they can actually survive the impact of moronic pheasents as well as stones.

'moronic pheasents'

Or is that 'peasants'?!

I bought a pack of four headlight protectors from a motor accessory shop - they were for a Capri. In a very sunfaded box, I got all 4 for £10 - and have 2 left over for next time! Another alternative is Armourfend, but since that's in contact with the glass it can't offer as uch protection, I think.

Ah Humsing

I'm gald you mentioned pheasants as I felt so guilty last week when in the New Forest and one suicidally ran in front of my Griff at full pelt!

I did try to dodge it but on-coming traffic rather limited my manoevre.

Tha car was OK but the pheasant became an unfortunate statistic....

I feel a general road-kill thread coming on!

There are a number of "tapes" similar to "Armourfend" that can be used. Mine where covered for me, by my specialist, with the tape they use to help protect their race cars. I can't comment other than I haven't had a broken lens since. However, I did more miles before I broke one than I have since having the tape fitted so.......
