If you really want to find out what's going on with the oil in your Griffith's engine and you've some money burning a hole in your anorak pocket, why not have an oil analysis report done (virgin or used)!

See www.bobistheoilguy.com for the last word on this subject.

Apparently, there's a lab in the UK that'll do this type of analysis:

Spectro Oil Analysis Co. Ltd
Palace Gate
High St
Odiham
Hants
Tel: (01256) 704000
Fax: (01256) 704006

If anyone does go down this route, I'd be interested to see the results and the recommendations.

On this subject I use the French Mobil 1 stuff from CitiEurope. That is a 5w50 so is that better / more suitable than the UK stuff? Rich...

OK - I'm fed up with this oil debate ; I'm gonna use
my favourite oil - 3 in 1.

It's even more expensive that Mobil 1 and only comes
in tiny cans....
