Zertec Development Car

We try Zertec's 4.3 Griffith - can such a classic be improved on?

made a pigs ear out of the front and the exhaust might sound better, but they could have hidden them a bit. All in all it wont be on my shopping list.

Zertec has made a good job except for the monaco cover and the rear lights I'm waiting for my new Griffith (very rare here in italy)and after seeing thi Zertec's modofications i'll think about that see ya Luca Marco

curious about the rear lights are they the LED type things similar to on the S type jags ??? Oh yes and the monaco covers aren't my cup of tea either bit to prancing horse like, love the seats, front end is great, exhausts a bit to in your face (not because of noise but looks) Horses for courses and I might be paying you a visit clive. About the same time as the drawings for the Monacco top appeared Clive was talking about a GT top for the Griff. Now that might be interesting at the right price.

I spoke to Clive a week ago and he is still working on the "GT Coupé" top - reckons he's spent close on 15k developing it, so if that's the case it'll have to make it into production! I guess it's a acse of watch this space? R...

Rear Lights - Pretty Good Front Lights - Why - No point! Thing behind seat - Hideous Seat - Very Nice - tasteful - but racey Dash - Nice - if you could be bothered 4 pipes - Very max power - Pointless Brakes - good idea.

Never liked the Griff rear lights, Clives are alot better. Fronts work really wel too, they will provide alot better lighting than the orig. Seats and dash work too. Keep up the good work Clive! (Just personal but the rears 'may' benfit from one of the small red lights being smaller, 'may' balance out better....sorry Clive these sort of comments must drive you mad!

Seats and interior touches look good, quite like the rear led lights. Can't make my mind up on the front lights, I think they may look better if they were in a pod style new look like I have seen on the Cerby recently... Clive's website needs updating and probably a complete new design as it looks un-professional. What are the prices for these mods? Marco

I think the whole thing is geat - it makes the car individual, and ingnoring the set-up tweeks, is done really well. Personally I love the front lights, think the exsiting ones have always looked a bit cheap. also think the monaco cover looks cool - would have to see car in flesh as its tricky to get an idea of proportaion from pics sometimes wish there were people doing this with every specialist car...I have a list of ideas for the new elise as long as my arm, but I doubt I'll ever do anything about it! Lets see The front lights need to go behind a strip of clear plastic The rear light look rather different and it will make people stair wich is a good thing The monaco cover? where dose it go when it rains but im not shower about it I love the seats but tou should do a light weight cloth version which should cost less I have always liked the alloy touches I like the sound of the supension alignment but maybe an option of different spring and shock would be better The brakes are a good idea, there isn't a lot of weight to stop there is all of that power to take into consideration I love the look of the exhaust but how about some tubler manaifolde as well to finish the system off I think Zertec should make a roll bar to finish off the car inside And when I can get my Griffith I know where I will be going for some cool bits to make my Grif my own "ZERTEC"

Wonder if this would fit the Chimaera too? ... I think the hoods are slightly different shape, hence the fixings/fittings probably are too. Mind you, it would make sense for Zertec to produce a Chimaera version if they want to sell more than a dozen or so (Chimaeras been common and all that).

Not very impressing! The rear light are quite of a mess... The Monaco Cover looks unproportioned and ugly.... The Handbreak looks like a doog bone... I really like the seats though! design student, germany

Clive, how about doing a headlight conversion that fitted under the existing covers, & was capable of being returned to original condition? I like the idea of brighter lights, but don't want to change the looks of the car. Have you set prices for the seats yet?

Hi Clive Most of the comments I've heard about your enhancements have been very positive. Most of these things are styling changes and are therefore a matter of taste, just as some people love the Tuscan and others hate it. Personally I love all the bits you've produced. I think it's a bit of a shame you haven't got more of the parts you've created for your own Griff' available for Joe public (i.e. the instrument binacle) but hell, you've got to keep your individuality haven't you? Someone made the suggestion of changing the existing lights behind the perspex cover. I would suggest a pair of gas-discharge lights from the latest BMW M5 which illuminate a ring around the edge for side-beam. I think these would complement your rear lights perfectly (which I will be ordering for my Chimaera by the way!). p.s. Hurry-up and get that website sorted! ;-)

Nice one, Clive. As a package, I'd say it helps the Griff look more contemporary especially in the areas where the TVR boys were still stealing parts from GM & Ford back in the early '90s. I'm curious about the Monaco cover, is the folding roof underneath? If not, I'm wondering why the 'humps' aren't a little lower (purely wind noise?) as it might look more like an integral part of the car if it were lower (IMHO).
