As prices have fallen so much, I'm thinking of getting a griff mostly for track days. The mods i was thinking of were: 4 pot brakes (new zertec kit? / colin blower?) TVR centre ohlins kit, 17 inch wheels and yokohama A038 tyres, Rollbar (rollcentre?) and harnesses. Any other suggestions for bits /sources or anyone with any experience of doing these sort of mods? and Peter - how are your new shockers working?

Ross I haven't fitted new shocks yet, Ed & Marco are going to give us some feedback about this I think. Sounds like an expensive but interesting exercise, what wheels are you going to use?

don't know, saw some raceline ones, v. similar to cerb 4.5 on a griff at silverstone. i love the old griff wire type ones aswell. any ideas? the other two ideas i had were a tuscan racecar made road legal or an elise. the advantage of the latter being that all the bits are readily available and well tried and tested. the disadvantage being you need a VHPD engine conversion which would cost £8000.

Ross, The alternative would be to buy a Tuscan R and use it on track days. Oh, you already have If you're looking for a track day car, you're better off buying a race car, like the Tuscan, as it's already going to have had all the work done. If you want something a bit different, you can pick up a racing Renault Spider for about £10k these days. 6 speed sequential box, nice and quick, a bit different from everything else you see on the road. Try giving Richard at Peninsula a ring 01884 35341 They offer lots of upgrade packages and have just finished developing new shocks in conjunction with Nitron for Griffith and Chimaera They also supply many of the upgrades i.e wheels, brakes, bushes, suspension etc to dealers so cut out the middle man !
