Best engine for weekend thrash car !?!
Discussion
Beware .....be very aware. Just to add my two pence into the conversion and lust for mini power.
Admittedly someone else did the work , but to achieve a well biult
16v Honda conversion you are looking at , cost of car plus £5 - £8k
to do it properly.
I had a nice 1980 gt Clubman that was transformed into a 176HP (at the flywheel) monster that was fun to drive , but in a strange way lacking in "soul" of a nice A series running on 10 inch MB,s and single S.U.
If you would like to pick the brains of a mini guru , try Andy Davies at M.L. Motorsport ( Knockholt Kent ) who built my car.
I was told , that as a guide 80/90 bhp on a sensible cam, plus 10 inch wheels is the way to go , but there again i should of listened to my own advice.
