Should be a lot easier/better results to convert an 8 port to injection (1 throttle body per cylinder) than having to use a single TB or the twin point setup with the old 5 port head - it's what I want to do with mine - take it back to a 998, and fit a BMW 16v head on with the BMW TB injection, and perhaps a blower for good measure.

Unfortunately it would entail me finishing the garage first biggrinbiggrinbiggrinbiggrin

Nah it will be a lot easier than mine as you dont have to worry about the shared ports issue.

Once you have the crank trigger in place the ECU can take care of fuelling on the 8 port head just like any other 'normal'car. The hardest bit for me was the fuel tanks , I should have just got an MPi tank, but decided to go with a custom set up with Swirl Pot and twin electric pumps. It works but was a real PITA and I am concerned that it wont be reliable.

I have decided not to go the Turbo route for now, and was circling around either the Minisport 7 port head or the SC 16v conversion. Probably need to focus on getting the car back on the road again, but where is the fun in that, I have a 1380 short engine sat waiting to go in, a nice 4 inlet head would be perfect.

Good luck with your plans, stick up a few pictures when you get the chance.

Nice. Love Mk1 grilles.

I have fitted megajolt and am now looking at this. Looking at £500 for a kit. Less than some, but still a lot (for me anyway). Looks like a ver capable piece of kit. I'd be interested to see how you get on with the Emerald.

Take a look at efiminis. Some good info and some knowledgeable people on there. All concentrating on the same sort of thing, so good answers are fairly easy to come by.

Keep it up.

Hi there my name is terry and I joined the forum group piston heads purely to broaden your knowledge on the apparent tuning of mini engines versus metro engines, all of the talk about the a series 1275 engine as the bench mark as to go bye. This is a miss conception. Based purely because of cylinder diameter and capacity. The correct bench mark for peak performance was and still is in fact the 1098 engine . Feel free to as questions if your really Interested cheers

Do you mean the 1071 S engine rather than the fragile 1098?

Hi here from South Africa. I have changed my mini to feul injection and wasted spark system and it works great. Ive used a Vw golf gti feul pump with a 3bar feul filter at the tank. Custom 36 - 1 timing wheel on the crank with a opel megnetic pickup 1 x 650cc injector and opel tps sensor. Spitronics management and map sensor.
