Go on then how do you release the flange bolts without turning the hub?

Also hub nuts, 150ft/lbs!! I thought I was going to knacker the drive shaft!

Was out at the new MINI factory, excellent day out.

For the hub bolts just get someone to press the brake.

I thought that but then though nah, thats not going to work...

I'll try it tommorow in that case.

Is the factory in Oxford? If so I have always fancied a wander around there due to its size more than anything else.

You wouldnt have a spare upper shock bracket mounting bolt lying around would you?

Yeah the Cowley factory, very impressive, they are producing 600 new minis a day, 7 days a week, production only stops for 4 hours a day to clean and check machines. Each chassis is laser checked for accuracy, noticed loads were going to the states.

Could probably find a mounting bolt on one of the cars, are they different to standard bolts?

Think so, they have an unthreaded 'nose' by the looks of things...

Cant, under strict orders tommorow. Have been playing with cars, karts and kit cars all week. Forgotten what my daughter looks like and 'er indoors is on the verge joining BRAKE....

Which I really should have mentioned in light of those discs, sorry mate...

No problem, discs are still on the car anyway so gives me a little more time

I’ll try and sort out to bolts in the next few days.

Nice one, thanks.

You're welcome to call in for a cuppa en route if you fancy...

Well we’re leaving at silly times in the morning and have to be at Bluewater later that evening but thanks for the offer.

Should organise a VW for everyone, that way could get a few PH’ers together before BT&P.

Yeah definately, there was talk of another one, would be nice to have a Mini section of the car park amongst all that tiresome common exotica!
