Hi Guys

I am currently considering saving for an early Landy to see me through the winter in the Frozen Wastelands (Newcastle). This because I had such a job using my TVR over the previous winter. In the snow and slush it was just too much.

So basically what I'm asking is what is my cheapest option?

Speed is not a consideration, just whether it will get me to work and back in the rain and snow eaisly and safely.

I was thing maybe Diesel?? I'm not very familiar with Land Rover's so any advice is welcome.

Is there any chance of picking one ub for around £1K?

Cheers

cheapest at the moment would be a series three long wheel base or an older 110. Yes you can pick one up easily for 1k. You will need to know how to fix them or buy a haynes and it will not look pretty. Earlier series motors are very much a classic with the series 11 now moving that way.

hope that helps.

You can pick up a series hardtop either SWB or LWB with an MOT for under a grand on eBay. My dad bought one on Ebay, ran it for a few months and sold it on Ebay again for a similar price.

I have a Classic RR 3500 auto.
It's magic. Goes everywhere at 80 and with constant 4 wheel drive it is very competant in the corners provided you ignore the body roll.
