MHO, they are like a 4x4 Bentley. Some of the detail and finish on the interior is beautiful and, for my money, it is the best ever RR shape of all, second only to the Classic.

Coincidentally, Mrs Digga and I were following a P38 on Sunday in a very similar shade of green to RetroWheels and she said "that's an old one", to which I replied, "yes, but I'd have another of those, best car I've had". Reckon they will become a classic. Here's my old one:

That's one hell of an exhaust...!!! biggrin

I think we are going to give in and 'retire' our D1 (50th Anniversary edition) due to simply sitting there on the drive and never being used. We kept it as a tip run special so as not to ruin the carpets in the 'new' L322 Autobiog.

Anyone on here fancy it? Should be chock full of spare parts and I imagine we could let it go for 'reasonable' cash. It had its MOT in November so running, insured and taxed etc. Slow leak on o/s front wheel/tyre due to light corrosion on the inside of the wheel rim. Car was welded (Sill and boot floor) as part of MOT. Will dig out some piccys.

175K miles.... we have had it since before its 3rd birthday smile

How it sits currently.

This is half on, half still to do.

Sadly, it's clunk is likely the front diff. Proper inspection is to be done but i think it's gubbed.

My first ever brand new car, I even went to Halewood and followed it down the production line. I'm very happy with it.

You and just about every other Defender owner. hehe

It's a way of life and hence why there's a whole industry devoted to it. One hopes the replacement might be as superbly 'modular' and upgradeable.
