Hello chap, I had a look on this site and found some pretty good ones just off the B1106 around Elveden way, never been out there before but thought I'd give it a try. They're all clearly marked as byways from the road so reasonably easy to find too.

Useful link and nice to see that there are some near where I live. Would like to get my series or my D3 on some local lanes, but I'm scared I'll get stuck and don't want to go on my own. Should join a local club really. https://www.bywaymap.com/index.html
Not many new pics of the series. Hoping that it will creep its way out of the garage in the upcoming months. It's a slow journey and I fear that getting it through its MOT will be quite a struggle.
Point being its saved me quite a few times when off the beaten track and blessedly I don't look like a 4x4 response if you get me.
You can get them for the Disco 3 as well.

Thank you very much, I may have a look about over there next week. https://www.bywaymap.com/index.html
The chap to made byway map has since passed away. It is never updated and is no better than looking at an OS map. The best you're gonna get is TrailWise. http://www.trailwise.org.uk
Obviously you can look at online definitive maps, but not every county has one, and more importantly, they don't show UCRs (ORPAs).

Nice 90 Nigel, where abouts is your course, always enjoy finding new ones to play at.
Well the D1 V8 Manual is getting a bit scruffy for road work, albeit amazing fun offroad! So, I needed a towcar, and well, when you have one green oval, another Discovery V8, ES Spec this time, with a Full History. It will be modified, its running General Grabber AT's, but will be used as a Family/Salisbury Green/Tow Vehicle, that I can enjoy to!
The day it arrived;
Quick clean, and rid of the horrid front bar (Whilst cleaning a centre silencer delete fell in, and so did upgraded headlights)
Stable Mates together

Did you get out towards Thetford at all goldfish? We're buggering off to Wales for a few days with two Series the first week of July. Really looking forward to it!
My leaf springs have been pretty solid for a while now so I blew as much crap as I could out today with compressed air, then sprayed between the leaves with WD40 followed by a mix of ATF and gear oil diluted with a ltitle bit of brake cleaner. To prevent it all from running out or getting ruined from dust/mud I tried sealing it in with a thick coat of underseal on the outside of the leaves. We jumped up and down on the bumper and tow ball like idiots to try and work it in a bit. Seems to have worked quite well!

Try the classifieds here.
Always going to be a difficult one.
I love this site but the classifieds aren't good. I've tried numerous cars on here over the years but never had any success. The search isn't good and half the time the photos don't load on the ads.Always going to be a difficult one.
I've always used Autotrader but that seems to have gone downhill as well. Might give eBay a try but wondered if anyone knew of a specialist site for Land Rovers or specifically Defenders. I'm very flexible on price as I just want it gone to make room for another car.

If you can remove the leaf springs you could try what I did:My leaf springs have been pretty solid for a while now so I blew as much crap as I could out today with compressed air, then sprayed between the leaves with WD40 followed by a mix of ATF and gear oil diluted with a ltitle bit of brake cleaner. Dismantle springs
Grind off any recesses in the bottom face of the leaves (where the end of the leaf below rubs)
Grind a radius on the top long edge of each leaf (to prevent the above from happening)
Wire brush the mating faces of the leaves
Apply a thin smear of graphite grease to the top face of each leaf and then reassemble.
Used the 110" to recover a 1972 Range Rover from Scotland on an Ifor Williams trailer.
Trailer unladen mass 735kg (according to the website)
328 miles with trailer empty, 13.08 gallons = 25mpg
Trailer towed nicely but certainly aware of it's presence - it made the 300TDi work hard up over Shap.
338 miles with trailer full, 13.71 gallons = 24.5mpg
Amazed that the extra mass of the Range Rover (towing 2400kg now) only reduced consumption by 0.5 mpg!
It was full accelerator pedal on most hills, lowest speed was 45mph in fourth gear when I got cut up by a car joining at M6 junction 15. The 110" is at 293,000 miles now and I honestly thought the return trip over Shap would see it needing the truck of shame.
Truly a tough vehicle.
It looks a bit nose heavy on the trailer but the 110's springs are past their best and the combination was stable so I left it as in this photo.
