Plucked the engine out for a look over to see if the horrid tapping noises it's been making from cold for the past 12 months or so were anything terminal. Found a buggered cam and the rocker shaft and bushes were knackered. Thoroughly cleaned all oil ways and refreshed with what it needed. Whisper quiet now!
Replaced all sealing strips underneath the floor panels and lined the transmission tunnel with some sound deadening stuff, well worth doing.
Ready for another year of service

Moved the series to its new home, have use of my gf’s parents garage to keep it under cover and dry while I rebuild it.
Now I need to shift over all the body panels, and all the running parts I’ve gathered.
Then order the rest of the running gear stuff...
And the autosparks loom...
And the new roll cage...
And tyres...
And paint it...
But apart from that it’s fine
Eighteen months on from buying a partly dismantled 2A and it's 99.9% finished. I have posted a few photos in this thread but here's where we are today. It's not concours and was never intended to be but I am very pleased with the results. original components and panels have been refurbished and reused wherever possible.

If my Series III V8 conversions looks as half as good as that, I'll be very happy. Just got the engine to plumb and wire before the body goes back on. Gassing Station | Land Rover | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
