First day out this year - Pay & Play which was refreshing devoid of idiots and it was nice to see some triallers out practicing.
After changing the needles in the carbs the other week, the low throttle control has improved immensely and there's a bit more mid-range grunt too.
The first time I scraped the snorkel on the side of a gully:

I have posted in this thread, but it was a while ago.
Fitted my new Wolf Replicas last night. Job made much faster due to Chinese replica Makia 1/2in Impact Wrench
Not in a position to get the Series out the garage, but pretty pleased with the look so far. Its running Defender fitment 235 85 R16s The wheels are wider and have a larger offset which bring the wheels and tyres in line with the bodywork and gives a Series a wider an more pleasing stance IMO
The spare looks much bigger than old 205 section its replaced. Kinda now dominates the rear of the car. Now thinking a cover might be a good idea or possibly move it to the bonnet, but don't want to do that as the Wheel/tyre combo are already pretty heavy and the Series bonnet is a flimsy thing as standard let alone adding a 30Kg wheel on top of it. Also, delux bonnets are rare and of course I bought one and then sold it on because I didn't like it back then....
on't want it in the load bay either as that was a real pain last time and of course I sold the bulkhead mounted spare wheel carrier!
If anyone wants to read more about the work on the series, there is a thread in GC. Not a huge amount of comments, but many pictures of everything that I have done

As I’ve posted some pictures of my Land Rover, perhaps you’ll allow me one cheeky one of showing you a (fairly critical) PART of my Land Rover?
Love it! I keep thinking I should've taken that route instead of repairing mine. As you can see there's a couple of bits to fix. Surface rust on the back axle is a minor concern as is the diff plug weeping.
Had the exceptionally common Freelander 2 turbo hose issue this weekend. Warning light on dash, restricted limp mode on acceleration. Plugged the OBD in and watched the boost hit the floor when I accelerated. Hadn't noticed an oil leak prior to it failing either, but to be fair it's not moved much lately.
Seems to be running a fair bit better now thats been done. Fuel filter is next on the list I think.

I have been twice on organised days with small groups of other older Landies. It’s a fantastic place where you can go as hard or as easy as you like, it’s really up to you. However, the mud is evil stuff like grinding paste that dries solid so worth avoiding the deep stuff and making sure you give it a really good clean after. I have been with Surrey4x4 who organised privately so worth following them on FB for regular outings. Otherwise I’ve heard it gets crazy there on normal days with a large amount of nutters!
