Settled on getting the front end bushes on the rear axle control arms replaced as the thing was swaying all over the place under deceleration. The wiper motor was replaced with a 2nd hand unit and the light switch was replaced. Fluids were checked and topped up but not replaced. The bill came in at 679€, which still seems pretty high but I guess these were essential tasks to make it driveable in all conditions and alot better than a starting point of 1500€!.

I'll just have to work through the rest of the list...

Rh rear wheel bearing (new bearing)
Front control arm bushes worn (new bushes)
Fuel filter leg corroded (not sure what's meant by this, perhaps a fuel filter clasp fixing kit will do)
AC compressor leaking (new compressor or can this be fixed?)
Engine mountings worn (new engine mounts)

...as funds allow. Question is, which jobs should I prioritize in terms of easiness/costs?
I have to say that does sound like a lot for what you had done. But, at least you can get on and enjoy it.

I would get the wheel bearing, bushes and engine mount done first. I don’t understand the fuel filter one either. AC you can live without I should think.

Got a further update from the garage when I asked for more details and they said i should prioritise the sticking right front brake. They said the inner front brake pistons will not go inwards at all without extreme force but the brakes are not jamming on at the moment. Not quite sure what to make of that given that it works,

They said the fluids were all good (rear diff needed 0,5L of oil) and the chassis and bulkhead are in pretty good condition. Weirdly there was no more mention of worn bushes, mounts and wheel bearings.

The seized caliper is common. If you don’t replace it you’ll get increased and uneven pad and disc wear, eventually you may overheat the pads and they’ll disintegrate. Can also cause weird handling when you brake.

That's very cool, I've been hunting for a birth year Honda Monkey bike for a while, without success.

Ok, good to know. Does it have to be replaced or can it be fixed?

They can be rebuilt if there is no corrosion in the bores. If you go down that road, use stainless pistons.

Anyone know about heated seats? The heater is element is not working. Tested the switches off the car and the voltage meter would suggest they work but the little LED lights don't come on. Is the lack of light a sure sign that they are knackered?

Is that a very late S3 or personal plate?

Finally bought an L322 range rover after lusting after one for years. It appears to have been very well looked after plus low miles for age and full main dealer service history. No jobs to do on it so I'll just enjoy driving!
