Anyone know if there are any physically in showrooms to view yet? I missed the mini UK-tour specifically in Battersea to see one in the flesh. Thanks
Nope, not yet. Demo deliveries start to dealers at the end of July, I'm told dealers will each get 1x demo Velar, possibly 2x depending on their size & order book.
I'm tentatively booked in for a test drive mid August - subject to their demo passing PDI & getting registered etc etc.

Thanks, surprised I haven't seen any on the A40 / A4 where I tend to see so many prototype and test cars.

Passed about 4 on the A46 near Evesham the other weekend and about 5 of them the weekend before that!

In the skin, in traffic it doesn't look that good IMHO.

Saw a burgundy prototype (had prototype vehicle stickers on the rear bumper) on the M42, by J3 back end of last week. Looks the same as every other RR, just scaled up or down. Something like VK17 YCE.

Prior to model launch JLR normally flog up and down A303 between M3 and Amesbury, nothing for the Velar...strange

I saw 8 of them running in convoy coming out of Manchester past Old Trafford followed by a Land Rover Experience vehicle.

I thought that they were a real step forwards in terms of design. I did take a look at the online configurator but soon lost interest when I saw the price of a reasonable spec. £80K + for the launch edition is mental. Good luck to them if they have managed to shift them all already though.

There's 200 or so all stored by the NEC in Birmingham- all sorts of different specs, they sit low and they're not too large.
Their presence far outshines their stature, very good looking in the flesh.

It's a dressed F-Pace. Looks very similar from the back in certain specs.

Loads around A46 Coventry....

is that the "to purchase" waiting list? or the "warranty fixes" waiting list for those that acquire one?

sadly there are too many vehicles being made at JLR for their quality, service & support processes to cope frown

And this is what's stopping people like myself from plunging into JLR ownership.

I saw a few Velars on the back of transporters heading North on the M1 last week. From what I saw, and from what it looks like in photos - this is the first time my interest has been triggered.

Three little things though - I don't know whether I like the rotary gear selector idea, the rear exhaust ports are too close together, and I don't want to risk having to wear a well worn path between my garage and the local dealership's service department.

Had a good look at them at Goodwood today. Definitely a baby RR rather than a jumped up Evoque.

I think they'll sell tons of the things. Ticks a lot of boxes for the person for whom a full size RR is just too much car but they like the style.

Sat in one in Goodwood. I have a Full Fat RR Autobiography and came away disappointed by the cheap interior. Just not worthy of a 70k car. In comparison, the Q5 or the Macan look so much nicer inside. It will undoubtedly be a commercial success short term i am just not sure why people would want this over a Sport once the novelty has worn off.

A Sport is the same size as a FFRR in terms of external dims.

If viewed from a passing fighter jet, maybe.

Apart from that a FFRR is 15cm longer and 5.5cm taller.

From the walk around video, the cheap bits I can see are the steering wheel centre cover, the overhead button console for the Pano roof controls, the area below and to the side of the steering wheel where the electronic hand brake button is, and the side plastics in the load area where the release levers for the seat backs reside.

Be interested to see if you found any more.
