High pressure fuel pump hose detatched!
Discussion
I've just had a phone call from my father, who told me that whilst driving from his home to the local supermarket he noticed his brakes making funny noises. When he got to a clear section of road he tried to stop to a complete halt and the car pulled into the oncoming lane quite considerably. Luckliy enough, his local garage was not far away (150-200m) and he was able to limp there gingerly.
Apparently upon getting out he immediately noticed the smell (and sound) of a considerable amount of diesel dripping from the wheel arch and underneath the car. Upon close inspection the high pressure fuel line had disconnected and basically sprayed the engine bay with derv.
He drives the 2007 LR Vogue 3.6 TDV8 - which coincidentally he had had serviced earlier that week!
My (his - being a non PH-er) question is would the garage carrying out the service have had to remove this line to change the fuel filter and therefore highly likely to be responsible for the hose coming off?
Your educated views appreciated!
