After 5 months of easy ownership, the Rangie died on Friday evening. Dead Alternator. A couple of questions on replacement
Does the new alternator come with an O ring, or is this a separate purchase?
I will order a new drive belt, is there anything else thats needed?
Thanks in advance
Nick

Pretty sure the Bosch replacement I fitted came with a new O-ring. It'll depend on the make of the replacement as to what you get though.
Nothing dramatic about changing it but take care with the water hose connections as they can become brittle over the years and the heat. Also check the O-rings inside the hose connections, again they can become deformed being sat in the same place for years and not re-seal on connecting back up.
I replaced the hoses at the same time as doing the alternator for peace of mind as I was also replacing the radiator (slight leak) but it's not necessary if they are OK.
