I have finally managed to go for approaching a month without my Range Rover going wrong.

It's in my garage and I haven't driven it since it last came back from the dealership
Not sure your post is valid - it may well have gone wrong, you just don't know yet!
That is always a distinct possibility yes.

Reading some of these replies has made me laugh...and they do echo our experience also.

My Dad bought a 2016 Vogue Autobiography nearly new, after I'd advised him it's about the best big luxury car he could buy, fit his mountain bikes in the back of and drive through the floods/snow/mud they get in their tiny isolated village. He's normally a Jag man, but coming from an XJ loved the Rangie's similar interior and the size of the boot.

In its first week with us, the suspension deflated in one corner. My poor mum was (nervously) driving it for the first time, although at least it had the good manners to do that in Waitrose carpark and not on the move. LR assist were good and we got a courtesy Discovery, so not all bad. The next thing it did was to forget to prompt Dad to get it serviced, meaning it missed it's schedule by about 5 months. That's the warranty potentially invalid then, on an £80k car that as this thread says you do not own outside of warranty. 'Ah yes, there was a software update to correct that sir. We've carried it out as part of the (late) service'. Brilliant. Thanks.

Then, just as we were all about to go to the airport in it for a family holiday, it gave us a red engine warning light. LR assist came out, 'sorry mate, turbo actuator. Common thing on these TDV8's, it's a big job and won't be done before your holiday'. So, off it went for a number of weeks to have the engine removed whilst we took my trusty Octavia to Gatwick. With suitcases on our knees. Thanks again.

Since then, it's only had minor gremlins that seem to go away by themselves, apart from some of the 360 cameras no longer working at all.

The point of all of that waffle? I've just signed on the dotted line to order a brand new RRS. Not just any rangie sport, but the Hybrid PHEV thing. So....according to this thread, it may never actually make it out of the dealers workshop?

I did think of a potential upside to this though. I'm limited in mileage on my lease - courtesy cars are not. So, I've promised the missus that when it breaks down and we get a courtesy car, we can go for a weekend away to make the most of it. As long as the loaner isn't a small hatchback. The better the car, the further we'll go for our little holiday...

True that.
