That ties up with what i'm being told about my Evoque PHEV order.
Evidently it was built but held in 'WIP' (i read this as stuck in a big car park somewhere in the midlands) but is now cleared for release with the new WLTP figures.

WIP - Released - Delivered to franchise hub - Local franchise - PDI - Me - Immediately passed to SWMBO.

My Disco Sport was due to go into build this Friday, but sounds iffy to me - I'll update when i hear anything more positive.

Thanks for keeping updated! Here is hoping this all becomes a reality for us soon.

Good news.
My dealer said that he’d update me on my Discovery Sport delivery over the weekend. It’s supposed to be in build today! Fingers crossed.

Hi jgrewal,

At last, they seem to be progressing now.
My Evoque is at the dealer pdi centre and my Discovery Sport has been built and awaiting factory release.
I'm starting to believe it'll actually happen

Snap!
We picked up the Evoque P300e this morning.
I got to touch it, and pay the bill, but SWMBO has disappeared off in it.... maybe i'll see it at the weekend.

My DS P300e is due in 7days, it's somewhere in between factory and PDI

Very interested in these. Only concern would be, on long trips, with a heavyish load, how the whole powertrain copes.

Short trips I can see the full-EV bit is a game changer, and that the hybrid mode will be jeffing quick, just wonder about the overall.

Picked up my P300e last Friday so thought I would leave a few comments on my views so far.

The Good:

- Space for us moving from a german saloon to this is a game changer with 2 small kids
- The car has great presence its obviously not Range Rover but they have tried made it feel like one with the R-Dynamic styling
- Moving between EV, ICE and Hybrid is seamless and works perfectly and the car is really smooth to drive with the 1.5 litre doing a nice job pulling such a heavy load when needed to

The Bad:

- Infotainment is actually beyond awful - I am gutted to have missed on PiviPro (lucky i can get around this with Apple CarPlay)
- Charging software or process isn't very intuitive doesn't seem to be any instructions or control beyond plug it in
- The actual range of EV (stated to be 32 when fully charged) is probably more like 18-20. This is obviously dependant on driving style and conditions. However, this works fine for us to do the local nursery drop and shopping run as a family car. One charge a week will cover me for £2.50ish.

I will possibly move my Octopus energy to the Agile tariff with my ohme intelligent charger which will mean I can charge in the night and be paid to use the the surplus on the grid.

Overall we're happy one week in so lets hope the reliability holds up because the horror stories of Land Rover worry me still smile

So they didn't just overstate the range, they outright lied. Wonder what that does to the CO2?

All EV's ranges are optimistic. They are, if you like, an absolute maximum.

Using an I-Pace on my short commute, 9 miles used nearly 18 of range, but I live in a pretty hilly area.

If your journey gets yo onto a flat-ish, clear dual carriageway or motorway, you would find, over a longer average, an EV does better and I suspect this would be the case with a PHEV. You can elect to 'save' the electric charge on a PHEV for, say, reaching a town/village, to cut local emissions in the built up area.

Range also depends on what else you are using. I tend to get fewer miles at this time of year as I’m using the heated steering wheel and seats.

It does make you think about consumption. You don’t always need the air con on for example and that makes a significant difference to range when you turn it off.
