We got just over 10% off of a brand new 240HSE which included many extras, it was already in stock - that was first week in October
Good to know - thanks, set the wife on ringing around in the morning.

With the new straight six diesel or the discontinued 4 pot version?

With it being a 240 and already in stock, it was obviously the 4-cylinder

Not necessarily, a couple of dealers had six pot diesels for sale.

Well, apart from the fact that there's no such thing as a 6 cylinder 240 - the 240s are 4 cylinder only

Indeed.
4 pots are 200/240.
6 pots are 200/250/300.

I test drove a 240. It was a very nice all rounder, decent pull and good economy from it.

I’ll be buying a 6 pot though in time.

Is the first years road tax really £2200 quid?

Dealer offer 5% off but only if I then buy £1,500 of their extras (gap, etc)

Must we do this time wasting dance frown

I have funds to buy this week, dealer has cars they need to sell before the 31st, looks like I need to stand down for a week or so.

Plenty of other dealers around though, desperate to do a deal on existing stock

at 10% for base car and options,
(not 1st-year tax and reg fee, which I guess makes sense)

Need to politely remove the 'insurance products'

Looking good biggrin

The salesman I dealt with knew that I wasn't interested in the insurance but had to inform and quote me for them as part of the company's process - there was no hard sell

I have just placed order for new 6 cylinder model for March delivery, with some nice extras.
S model 200 hp , £3000 discount with vehicle under £50,000 , with No insurance add ons, most dealers wouldn’t give 1 penny off. About 6% off.

Bought one - Frist edition with a few bits (7 seats) and discount, managed to keep the price below £60k

Drives well (4 pot 250)...helps that it is 1/4 tonne lighter than a Disco 4.

who did you use? A lot of 4 pots around, with the change to 6 cylinder, it seems these will take a hit.

I agree the 4 cylinder will take a big loss !, so many around unsold. I was offered £5/6 K discount of one, but the new 6 cylinder engine is much improved for smoothness, but I had 5 dealerships not wanting to give me a penny discount and they just let me walk away. I bought from a dealer 35 miles from me and had to push very hard to get the deal I wanted ( take it or leave it ) approach. Southamton main dealer.
