Just collected my MY22 D300SE which has been on order since March so quite quick really.
Having waiting a few months I had high expectations and aren’t disappointed! In fact blown away by this car!
Yes they may be a few gripes about the cubby spaces and the nighttime down lights but this car overall is awesome!
Silky smooth engine/gearbox, great ride and soo many features, I absolutely love it.

I’ve just got a 90 Hardtop and am blown away it. I didn’t have a test drive as was ordered during covid but I really didn’t expect it to be as quiet, comfortable and refined as it is.

Had Defenders a Cayenne and a few X5’s over the years and it’s better than any of them, how much of that is down to progress I’m not sure as I haven’t any experience of the more recent models but it’s a lovely thing.

Time to find out if the reliability stigma is true..

That’s a shame.

Almost cancelled mine with delays but glad I didn’t .
We are gutted but need a replacement vehicle ready for winter, we’ll lease something in the interim then get a Defender when things have sorted themselves out.

We collected ours on Friday - I too am utterly blown away, fantastic car - the refinement of the new 6 cylinder diesel is deeply impressive - very very happy

Although this is peak silliness. Hopefully there is an off button somewhere.

Ha! Silly but I quite like it. The Range Rover has something similar but a bit more subtle.

I honestly feel like a teenager again I love it that much, just waiting for this heatwave to calm a little so I can get the polish out

Had a note saying my car ordered mid-June (90, 250) and originally expected "October - November", then revised to "by end of Q4" is due September!

Would be a very pleasant surprise if so - albeit a pain in the arse for cashflow.

Guess "factory closing" is a big news story, but "factory reopens" isn't.... can only assume they must be still making them!

Ours was the same, ordered early May, said september/october, arrived in mid July!

Had the JLR black screen of death, which wasn't great - it reset itself, so fingers crossed it's not recurrent...

There was a recent software update which caused a problem with the cameras on mine.

Seems to have resolved itself now.

Some lovely looking Defenders there!

Question to those with the D300 (and maybe the D250); how does it sound in this application? I’ve been driving the RRS with the D300 MHEV and it’s absolutely fantastic - the noise it makes is lovely, even when compared to big petrol engines. Is the noise ‘enhanced’ on the RRS or do they all sound like that no matter which car it’s in - RRS, Defender or Disco? It’s a rumbly, thundery, burbly noise in the RRS and really quite addictive.

The D300 is so quiet on tick over (I have to check the rev counter to see when it auto stops at lights) and is so silky smooth running at about 1400rpm at 100km/h but when you boot it there’s a lovely growl/rumble from the engine that really lets you know you have 300bhp!
As said earlier absolutely love it!!

The D200 in the hardtop is the same, I haven’t had a diesel since a E70 X5 3.0D and it’s far quieter and smoother than it.

Perfectly adequate performance too. I’m sure the more powerful engines are even better.

Just trying to make the numbers work on the configurator; what discounts have you been getting? Doesn’t look like much is available but can you use BASC or NFU membership?

Supply is so constrained, I doubt there are any discounts out there.

Liking mine so much I'm tempted to put an order in for a new D300 straight away.

Well, I’ll leave it for the dealer to get back to me. My Disco has been such a pain in the arse that they talked about trying to get a goodwill contribution from LR - £4K would make the numbers work.

Although I’ve just run a CarWow request for a RRS SVR and the numbers on that wouldn’t be horrific! A couple of hundred per month than a D300 Defender. One last V8 before they ban them?

That's an excuse that with a bit of luck might work for several years... hehe
