Going back and forth on the interior. Think I'm settled on this but will take a call when I see some in the metal.

I like the Perlino but not sure it goes with the Belgravia green. Piano black is lovely bit I do like brown walnut.

Plan B is Hakuba Silver exterior with Perlino / Black.

Bit disappointed with interior choices - Caraway with Belgravia Green, though.

That's what I've ordered, but what is that interior colour above? Also Ecru referenced? Is that SE / Windsor leather specific. Need to do some digging

Also I've had the 4.4 V8 in an M5C and it is sublime so highly recommended.

Immediate follow up to the above... Ecru does exist just like Rich has spec'd but is Windosr leather only! Very annoyed about this as its not available on a AB, or as Semi-Analine at all, but it is the best colour interior I have seen IMO. Deep Garnet not being allowed on the Belgravia.

Now I need to have a serious rethink!

RE: the screen, its fine, we had pivi in the missus' Velar p400e. We sold it in less than three months though, and it wasn't a patch on idrive or suchlike.

I think Caraway is too much brown unfortunately. Was tempted, but prefer the beige.
Might be the wrong call, but Ecru is low risk.

Now. I'm being cheap and going D300.
L322 Tdv8 had 300 and that was fine.
Must have been similar weight.
D350 isn't much more cash, but I'm not sure its needed.

Thoughts?

The only reason I would have counselled against the TDV6 300 on the l405 was the lack of active anti roll. I think all trims and engines have this and active steering, and the straight six is the same unit as the 350 anyway. I can't imagine the speed difference being material, maybe if you tow.

I think the caraway should be seen as a less orange tan, I would have preferred espresso personally. Ecru is very close to Acorn on the Velar which is what we had (and sand like you say) so I think it will be lovely.

Not going to be towing so thinking along the same lines. The D300 should be more than sufficient.

Anything else on the spec worth considering?

Depends what you are coming from to be honest.

I've had a quick look at SE spec and recommend acoustic laminated side glass, as that will have a real impact on comfort and sound.

I would definately upgrade to the meridian 3d (which is the mid range, singature not available on this spec) as I think that is just adaquate for the size and shape of the cabin. If you can live with a non leather dashboard and airbag cover then you won't need the 1500 leather upgrade.

I would definately spec configurable programmes (which should be included) and the secure tracker pro (insurance will be a nightmare without).

If you are intending to PCP and speccing a D300 SE with a few bits I would take a look at the equivalent HSE 350 or even HSE p400 - the GFV offsets the cash price and the reality could be a couple of quid difference.

Certainly if you add signature sound and a few extras to the HSE you are very close to an AB which has all that included.

Man maths at its finest.

Well, I'm currently driving an Up GTI so anything is going to feel a bit plush. I was in a late F80 M3 Comp before that but sold it when the prices went silly at exactly the point I was using it the least. I was running a stripped out 911 at the same time, which went because it wasn't getting used. Family car is a Q5. Last had a Range Rover in 2018.

I can't make the man maths work on bumping the spec up. Going to an HSE is adding well over 100 pcm however I play with the PCP calculator, and there's nothing on it I feel is adding that much.

I like my music but my commute is short and when I'm on long drives it's all about nursery rhymes and bounce patrol at the moment, so not feeling the need to enhance the spec there (especially as they'll be streamed).

I had already added the tracker as you say.

Will have a look at the laminated glass.

I've seen two new ones out and about in the last two days. First one was black with 'prototype' on the door, the second white body with black above the waistline.

The darker one looked elegant, the white and black, as in the picture above, didn't work IMO. Perhaps in London, Moreton in Marsh not so much.

In both cases I found myself looking at the rear lights to check it was a new model. I don't think that's a bad thing, I prefer evolution to revolution.

This is my worry. I think they are too avant-garde now and lack the ability to do the classic, non-urban look.

I'm in Canary Wharf tomorrow morning to look at them again, the more I see of it the more I think it's a brilliant car, but not what I am used to with a fatty. I didn't have that when I first saw the L405.

Completely agree with SmithCorona on this one - Doing classic with this new L460 is not an easy task. I think the rear lights have made this particularly difficult.

For me, the darker paint colours don't really work against these new blacked out lights and black rear strip. Combining these just makes me think, pimped old BMW:

I would have loved to have gone for Belgravia Green with Caraway, but in LWB Autobiography form, Privacy Glass is now standard (with no option to delete). Combine the black rear lights and black privacy glass and that classic Range Rover look is well and truly gone.

After much deliberation, I've ordered Batumi Gold with Perlino. I personally think this contrasts better with the rear lights and silver Autobiography exterior pack. Plus it works well for me personally, as I'm buying this car to use largely in Europe, so need to have the privacy glass to protect the dogs from sunlight, and I think this colour will look particularly nice in the sun.

Don't get me wrong, I do like the new look, but I think the days of "Classic Range Rover" are long gone with this model, which is why I'll still also be keeping my 2007 L322

With clear glass, the rearmost side window looks like a porthole, even more so than the L405 - very disappointing.

The green/caraway was my first choice, but in SWB - which solves the privacy glass issue as you can just use the roller blinds. However, I have flip flopped to Lantau Bronze on Deep Garnet which I think is where I am settled.

Saw a Bantumi LWB today - very nice. Definately needs the AB contrast pack though, and not nickel or black. The LWB space is a good 20% more than last time by feel.

I am very disappointed with the sun visors which are leather on the facing but not on the inside - I was assured this is pre-production but who knows.

Also the driving position confirms my first thoughts, it is lower and the driver's space feels more cocooned- not cramped, just more enclosed.

Driving position is very much more car-like, seat seems a lot closer to the floor. Again, disappointing.

Good choice SmithCorona - Here's a few Lantau Bronze images I got the other day:

Is that a design feature or is it falling apart already?

Saw my first one in the wild the other day. As others have said evolution not revolution. Very subtly different but still the epitome of class.

I think that's just the way the light's reflecting on it - Looks similar on the door.

I don't recall seeing any panels hanging off, and if that were the case, I'm pretty sure someone else would have picked up on it.

It’s a design feature, look at the shots on P1 of this thread and you’ll see the rear ‘undertray’ curves around the side of the car behind the rear wheels. Unsure if aerodynamic (hopefully) or just aesthetic (oh dear).
