Series 1 4x2 were 88” and used in various roles on various bases for military use.

Rather rare and quite a few got converted back to 4wd over the years.

So the idea has been about since 1958 as that’s the year for the cars in the series 1 club.

Ta muchly.

So much like the Italian RaRos, all previous 2wd cars were produced as part of some sort of gov/mil contract, rather than a regular production car.

A couple of us use them supporting P2P races. They are pretty capable on muddy rutted tracks that would confound other cars. Mine does all I ask it to do and for the 90% of the time I am on-road is a very comfortable place to be.
Nice. Where do you do that? I used to go to P2P a lot, but haven't for ages. Been trying for the last couple of years but they keep clashing with other commitments. I'm in NW Wilts.
Mainly at Larkhill as it is only a couple of miles from me but sometimes down in Dorset at Badbury Rings or at Barbury on the Marlborough downs.

Thanks. Where's the best place to find the dates? Go Pointing?

I wonder what percentage of Evoque's ever get further off road than a grass car park?
I'd say close to zero. I don't think anyone that needs to ever go offroad would even consider it as an option.

Although, to be fair, I've just been reading up on it and it does appear to have good clearance, entry and departure angles and a 50cm wading depth, so I dare say it'd be alright if needed, perhaps tyre dependent.
I did my Expedition LR course at Eastnor a few years ago.

Everywhere we went and did, an Evoque followed us in our 110. They do look like a tart's handbag, but they're very capable off road (agree about tyres, I think this one had decent AT's on).

Nope... It would have been on standard road tyres.

There seems to a common misconception that ALL LR/RR are 4WD.
Until a few years ago, that's what it used to be... Well, other than a small batch of early Range Rovers, built for the Italian police.

It's also something LR used in their marketing material.

Here in the USA LR have never offered a vehicle that was not 4WD. I believe that it is part of the brand DNA and I think LRNA were right to do that.

I agree with Camel about the Evoque too. I've driven them off road and they are very capable.
