Oooh, good thread.

We've currently got:
1996 Range Rover 4.6 HSE in Niagra grey and Hurricanes (with blue poybushes and koni shocks, too!)
2004 Freelander TD4 auto 4 door in Bonnati grey and Alpaca leather/alcantara interior (nice).

Previously owned:
1962 (ish) 11a 109 2.25 petrol truck cab hand painted matt black (roof/doortops off, windscreen down in the summer!)
1978 2 door Range Rover with full length (but leaky) sunroof
1980 4 door Range Rover in Russet brown (yuk!)with Wella 8 spokes and SATs
1989 Range Rover Vogue SE 3.9 which was p/xed for:
1995 Discovery ES TDi (300) auto
1992 Range Rover Vogue 3.9 in Plymouth Blue and grey cloth (only remakable thing that happened to this was that it was p/xed for a Lotus Carlton!)
1995 Range Rover Vogue SE Soft Dash in Plymouth Blue/charcoal leather (went back to dealership 5 times with air suspn issues and many parts replaced only for a corroded terminal on the loom to be found...)
2000 Freelander EXi 3 door in Blenheim silver with a 160 bhp head fitted to the k series (which already had a 'service exchange' sticker on it when we bought it) and a rorty exhaust. Made it much better.

Might have to buy another wagon this year....

Edit cos I missed one out!

97 RR Vogue, had it a week, broke down yesterday, new alternator being fitted as we speak, still love it though

Slightly off thread, got it back today all fixed and great. Service from the dealer in Wooburn (nr High Wycombe) was brilliant, they sorted out a tow truck within 15mins (I'm not in the AA), got it sorted within 24hrs, valeted it and didn't charge me the earth. Good work fellas

2001 Range Rover 4.6 Vogue with SGI gas conversion, brilliant car, just wish it handled a bit better and didnt lurch round the bends so much. Gas conversion makes running costs bearable.

GKP, whats your verdict on the Konis you have on your P38?

Hey guys,

We've had Freelanders since 1998. We started with a Rioja Red '98 1.8 manual. Had a few teething problems with. A/C didnt work on day one, and rear window shattered when we switched on the rear screen heater. When the V6 came out, we bought an Icelandic Blue MY2000 ES model. This I wrote off on Easter Monday 2003.Slipped on a greasy road, slid side-long into a lamp-post, car spun 90 degrees and the fron of the car hit the side of a Fiat Uno on a garage forecourt, which had a domino effect into 3 other cars. All 5 cars and lamp-post written off. As it was 3am, no-one was about, I was the only person to be injured, and that was just a small cut on my elbow. Very lucky to walk away from it - a testament to the Freelander's strength!! So much so, in Dec. 2004, we bought another V6 (last of the old shape). We've had some trouble with the mechanics. Despite an HPi check and buying from a Land Rover Dealer, they neglected to tell us (even when asked) that it had been in an accident, where a "piggy-back" forklift had fallen off an HGV, resulting in the front-end of the car being rebuilt by a LR dealer.
Considering its replacement now. Either the next generation Freelander, RR Sport 4.2 supercharged or a Merc ML

Sorry about all my gassing, but hey! - a bit of a story for ya

/Quick sidetrack off topic stuff/
The Konis have been great. Initial bounce is allowed as normal so it still soaks up the bumps, but the rebound is much better controlled than the std dampers so you get less wallow and nodding. They've made the whole car feel a lot 'tighter'
