I am quite keen on the Supercharged Range Rover Sport, has anybody managed to get any descent discounts from a main dealer on a new one?

There's a few thousand off a UK car if you shop around, or if you want a UK spec import they're about 5k off UK list.

Theres a place in Windsor, Nick Kerner 4x4 perhaps?

They were offering huge chunks off all new LR products.

Dont know if they are imports or what mind you, just recall seeing the adverts.

They'd better not!!!

Range Rover will TAKE AWAY Sport allocation if ANY dealer is discounting Sport. You may get away with a set of mats or the like, but thats about it.

But I sippose there is always a way.....

Probably, which is why you'd need to buy through a broker who gets the financial kick back from the dealer.

Had a roadtest in a sport today and was offered nearly 3k off list and that was from a main dealer.

Cartel anyone? Manufacturers can't do that. Once they've sold the car to the dealer it's up to the dealer to decide how much they retail it for. Obviously the manufacturer has a rrp in mind but suggesting that a dealer would face financial penalties if they deviate from the statutory price list is not allowed.
This is to protect us, the customer.

I have recently bought a new RR s/c from a main dealer, got a very good discount, was also offered discounts by others but all on petrol models. Some dealers were asking for list for a car up to 6 months old in diesel.
My advice would be to shop around, if you are buying new, then it dosent matter where it comes from, they will all be the same for the spec level, with same warranty etc. (Assuming UK dealer supplied)

By offering discounts the dealer is destroying the future used values, and undoing all Land Rover has done by not overbuilding the car, so as not to flood the marketplace.

There may be a suicidal dealer that has a Diesel Sport bolted where the sun don't shine and has end of quater targets to reach, but he ain't doing his job very well if thats the case.

Full size RR is a different story though...

Bloody hell Tony, that's the biggest discount i've heard of on a Diesel!!

We've sold 12 of the things so far this year and the max we get from any given dealer is between £250 and £1,500 !

Did they have one in stock they wanted registering for March or was it on a factory order?

Agreed, discounts are all well and good but if you gain at one end, you'll ultimately lose at the other!

The spec levels here in Belgium (HSE et al) are not equivalent to UK spec levels when you order LHD. Maybe for rhd it is different?

You can specify UK RHD spec, just as a Frenchy could request a LHD French spec vehicle from us!
