Upgrading P38 headlights to Bi-xenon
Discussion
Thought I would quickly post up some brief details of a HID conversion I did recently. I got the kit from http://www.hids4u.co.uk/product_details.asp?id=44 and it came down like this...
(not my photo)
It was fairly easy to install (all instructions included), and took about 40 minutes in all. Just a bit fiddly getting the balast packs secure behind the headlight units.
Before....normal halogen driving bulbs look yellow.
After....bright white bi-xenon HID replaces driving bulbs, and doubles as second "full beam" as well. You can still see how yellow the small normal parking bulb looks at the bottom ....
which have now been replaced with white LED running lights.....
The only issue is that I need some resistors for the tiny LED lights, as they use so little power (1 watt) that they are prompting a bulb failure warning light on the dash.
All in all very pleased with it though.
