Just bought a P38 DSE, can anyone help?

Hi guys, i have bought a p38 dse (97) very cheaply with a siezed engine. Does anyone know which BMW motor is used because i have the oppertunity to buy a low mileage 1996 2.5 BMW diesel motor for a e34 5 series. Is this going to be possible to fit or am i best off looking at ex Range Rover units? I understand rads etc will need to be Range Rover units, but can just the basic 5 series block be used? Any help would be mucho apreciated!! Many thanks..

325tds and 525tds share teh same engine as the p38, as does the Omega 2.5td.
