SIII brake light switch keeps blowing
Discussion
Any ideas what might be causing the brake light switch to keep blowing on my SIII? It has just gone through its third in a month and I'm not tempted to spend another £11.45p on a new one until I can work out why they keep going pop! They seem to be getting very hot to the touch and basically frying themselves!
If it is getting hot it would seem to imply it is on all the time.
Don't know if it is pedal operated or in the hydraulic line.
If pedal
Are you riding the brakes?
Bad adjustment of switch position?
Some sort of short in the wiring?
If hydraulic
Again riding the brakes?
Incorrect master cylinder/servo pushrod adjustment preventing the piston returning and causing the pressure to remain in the system and the brake lights stay on.
First check is to see if the lights stay on but this may need to be checked after a run so everything is warm or by someone following.
