TVR 4.6 engine? Though they only did 4, 4.5 and 5 litres. Be careful of it being based on the Range Rover 4.6 as they can have serious problems.

£8k? Nearly as ludicrous as comparing it to a Wildcat.

Defenders of that age had drum brakes on the rear, weak 10 spline half shafts, heavy clutches and vague gearboxes, it's also not a genuine station wagon. All of the aforementioned may have been upgraded and which point you are getting towards Q plate requirement, assuming it's not a ringer.

£8k would buy you a late, top quality unmolested 300TDI.
