The petrol is extremely thirsty i.e ,15mpg. Don't be tempted.

Not heard anything else.

Drove the diesel for a day on and off road and loved it - great car, comfy, well appointed inside and brill off road.

We ver nearly bought one but my wife thought it was too big for our needs so we bought a golf instead...

They are really very good...but don't they fall into £400 a year road fund license bracket?

Only the I6 Petrol

co2 =194 diesel man = RFL of £205
co2 =224 diesel auto = RFL of £205
co2 =265 petrol auto = RFL of £300

I can recomend the Freelander 2 as i spent 3 years developing it....

You must go on the Landrover Experience (Eastnor castle is the place to go offial Landrover test track).

I have asked on a previous post about the fuel consumption on diesel automatic Freelander 2 in real life terms.I get a feeling that low 30 mpg is likely which is not that good.Has anyone used one on a daily basis

have diesels in fleet here.. great cars, new engine is a million times better, as is the interior.

Just feels much more like a baby disco than the plastic fantastic previous model.

had one as a service car for a da, and it was great. we have a disco 3 and G4 Defender

very comfy, nippy and responsive very suprising it handled so well, was impressed.

Its not big enough for us as a family hence the d3 and g4 110.

We bought one as the family runaround recently. I think it's fantastic value.
Ours is the basic "S" model with leather seats and slightly larger wheels than normal and cost £19,995. The ride is quite frankly awesome (whisper this) better than my e-class, the handling is fine for such a large and high car. It's motorway performance is simply astounding, ridiculously quiet for such a bluff vehicle. The engine and gearbox are superb (the auto's meant to be even better but it's hard to see how). And it generally feels bulletproof.

The only thing that I would mark it down for is interior space especially in the back. There's not much leg room for what is quite a large car and the boot space is more adequate than impressive.

But all in all it's just a fantastic car and unbelievably good value in it's most basic spec. We looked at a X-trail, which was loads more, as was the Mitsubishi, X3, RAV4 and CRV. And the only car with true offroad capability (should you ever need to call upon it). My wife loves it too!bow
