Hi all, can anyone give me any advice regarding a Disco 3? I've sold my RR and want to buy a Disco 3 Diesel as I'm going to be doing a lot more mileage, I've found a few bits out like the sunroof bars cracking but wondered if anyone had any other tips to look for?

I had a look at a 2005 model yesterday and it had a parrot device in it, did they not come with bluetooth in that year?

Any help appreciated.

No it wasn't standard at that time, it was an option, I think it was 2006 that it became standard on the HSE model, along with the fridge.

Does that mean it will still have the red and green button on the steering wheel though?

Go for as late a model as you can afford. Problems are then ironed out. I got a 08 model XS in Sept time. I dont miss the toys from an HSE but probably paid not much more than an 05 HSE.

Do you know that differences are between the HSE and the SE apart from the sunroofs?

Have a look here:

http://www.landrover.co.uk/gb/en/Vehicles/Discover...

But from what I can see these items listed below are standard on the HSE but Optional extras on the SE.

Heated front and rear seats
19 inch Alloy Wheels and full size spare
Sunroof and Alpine roof
Personal telephone integration system (with Nokia Bluetooth enhancements)
Hybrid TV
Metallic / Micatallic paint
Bi-xenon Front Adaptive Lighting

Do you know if that applies to the 2006 model years as well?

Ah, so I may be able to get an SE with some options on it cheaper than the full HSE?

They changed the standard spec on the various models yr on yr. Best thing is to decide what you want as a spec and what your bduget is. My XS model has heated front seats, 18inch alloys, Xenons, metallic paint, tel integration, privacy glass, 7 seats etc.... The only items that I dont have that I might want are leather and integrated sat nav. Can add leather for sub £900 and can use my navman (which is better). Can add 19s for sub £500 if really wanted.

What is intergrated Sat Nav?

I'm really looking for a Silver one with Privacy glass, 7 seats, black or dark leather, bluetooth or similar, I don't mind having 18's and my budget is up to about £28k

its like normal sat nav only you have a dongle whitch rather cleverly attaches to the flux capacitor and as such enables the anti flimjam capabilities that land rover feel should be in every stepladder.

  • (its in built sat nat, duhwink )

That buys you an XS in auto from late 07 or an SE from 05/06 I guess. Most XS' are cloth but you can get leather retro for 900 squid. Silver isnt a popular colour so you have plenty of choice. Derby dealer does good deals but watch the market as Landrover dump cars from HQ onto the market ie thats why I got an XS for good money.
