Hi all, Its disk and pad time on my D2. rather than replace them with stock has anyone come up across upgraded, pads and disks (i.e. better materials) I'd prefer something with a bit more bite and grooved disks... I've found some full brake upgrades including calipers but they are a bit pricey...

Also anyone know how the abs/tc will respond to different brake marterials... I assume as its all based around wheel speed sensors it shouldnt matter

Cheers

G

p.s. springs are on the agenda as well i think, the fronts always been a bit soft for me

Just been an article in LRO about Frog Islands Terrafirma brake upgrade. Seemed to be reasonable parts costs but I wouldn't go near them personally. To be honest I have found OEM to be pretty good on all the Land Rovers I've had.

Ta, that looks interesting, no customer reviews though, I must nip out and grab a copy of lro then...

the main thing that puts me off those it the drilling, these days thats really only done for cosmetics, its the grooves that do the work...

I do tend to work the old girl fairl hard, its slightly tweeked to 200bhp ;-) , and if its not being blatted about its got a big trailer with cars and tools on the back, so the brakes get a work out... I would like a bit more initial bite..

New oem's would be an improvment over the 50k set on at the moment admittedly, I dont like to go over 50% on the racer, and these are a bit thinner than that and you can tell as they heat up quite quickly..
