Hi the front sunroof was working yesterday and today has decided not to work. The rear is still working fine. Any ideas would be really helpful. Thanks

I've just had a quick look at the cicuit diagrams:

Both sunroofs are powered through the same 30A fuse.

Operation is controlled by a sun roof electronic control unit (ECU) located near to the switches (front centre headlining), which receives the 12V power feed from the aforementioned fuse.

The switches control the ECU which, when enabled with ignition switch in position II (by a signal from Body Control Unit to Sun Roof ECU), drives both (front and rear) motors on demand. (Three control wires to each motor from the ECU)

Not sure how intelligent the ECU is, but it seems to recognise end of travel etc, so more than just a couple of relays in there.

In your case therefore it's either the front switch, the ECU, the front motor itself - or the short run of wiring between the three.

It looks as though front and rear motors are electrically interchangable, but to swap will require rear headlining to be removed - though you could just run some jumper cables....

Not sure that really helps much does it?

It is easy to trap bits of crud in the mechanism which the module controlling the sunroof sees as a fault and won't work. If you remove the finishing strip from around the sunroof/ headliner, you can pull the headliner down enough to check that everything is ok. The mechanism is easy to remove and clean and regrease. You will need some torx bits to remove the sunroof mechanism Download the RAVE manual from greenoval.com
