The £100 challenge – start a business

My background is big blue chip - last proper job was in AMazon UK senior mgmt.
I bet someone a couple of months ago that I could run a garage better than the idiots down the road who had just lost me as a customer for my bill moving from 'a couple of hundred quid' to £530.
Two months later, I have a garage - mainly servicing cars, but also general work and motorbikes too. And costs have been surprisingly low - more than £100, but not nearly as much as you'd think - if I was paying the insurance monthly I would be well under £1000. We will break even in month 1. :-)
Your rent, rates, electric, insurance (pro rata'd) and employees wages all come to less than £1,000 a month??I bet someone a couple of months ago that I could run a garage better than the idiots down the road who had just lost me as a customer for my bill moving from 'a couple of hundred quid' to £530.

What a brilliant idea, im staying in tonight so going to try and think of some ideas, doubt ill have much luck, i just think of what id do with my millions....
Yep, although with hinsight I might make the next one a £500 challenge. £100 isn't actually very much money given that you you need to buy something (unless you perform a service) and market it. Frimley111R said:

Mmm. And why aren't you doing anything?Actually, I'd like an unlimited challenge. The only challenge is in terms of time.

Yes. About 1k. Why?
I was just curious to hear some first hand experience of YouTube channels as a way to generate some form of income. I guess some of the bigger channels are pretty lucrative for their owners when you consider they have no hosting costs on the videos they produce. Obviously the cost of producing content for some of the channels will not be cheap.Good stuff. Cheers.

Bog standard ebay store me thinks :P
What are you going to be selling?Bog standard ebay store me thinks :P
I'm using ebay to sell on a load of used electronic test equipment and accessories as well as a large pile of microscopes. Slowly turning a profit but it's a frustrating way of selling.

Is that as a result of your YouTube videos?
If so, how many views did your videos get in order to generate those figures?

This is quite interesting; so as an income we are talking about £1750 per 1 million hits? Am I right in this assumption or does the rate vary depending upon how quickly it goes viral or the number of hits it gets; ie is it a sliding scale where the rate goes up as it becomes more popular?
I don't know. I understand the big hitters are not allowed to disclose such info.As an aside, first worry about getting 1m hits then worry about payment.

Not aiming for a mega store at the start, just £100 worth of stuff, once thats all sold ill place another order worth of stuff and go from there.
