Hi,
After some general advice on trademarks. I’ve an interest in using a domain name (let’s say it’s manageproperty.xyz) for a new business. i.e. it’s basically 2 dictionary words that describe perfectly the business we will be in – managing property.
We will only trade in the UK and only in our region of the UK, not a big business.
Should I really worry about trademarks and infringing what someone else has elsewhere in the UK or globally?
I’ve read up a bit and example of Apple selling computers comes up a lot – they are called Apple and don’t sell Apples so their trademark rights are very strong.

If it's entirely descriptive then the chances of someone having it as a trademark are pretty slim.it’s basically 2 dictionary words that describe perfectly the business we will be in

You can always check on the IPO.gov.uk website to be sure.
