Anyone any experience in the minibus business?
Discussion
I'm just starting out. Bus should be arriving in October. I will be doing elderly trips as well as rental for schools/ sports groups etc. CPC is the first thing to tick off your list as is your D1 which is next on my agenda. I can legally drive a 17 seater but not for hire and reward.
If I told you a family of 5 paid £4k to be collected from the airport and escorted for a week ending up in Scotland (from Heathrow) in a luxury sprinter would that not appeal ?
Its took him a while to get these gigs but they are plentiful once you make the connections abroad.
Domestically the work is posh football related, golf and corporate using a 16 seater with 4 tables and loo / kitchen, 16 seater with 2 tables and 8 seater all captains chairs (the new one).
I helped him buy the 2 better ones and the first one was fully repaid within one year.
The difference ? he remembers what they like to eat and has it on board (from crisps to sarnies), adds as much to their experience as possible, always call ahead to get them the best seats, drop off etc.
One example is 5 USA guys touring the UK playing golf, they played North Wales then were staying in Southport - he drove them to the ferry and met them on the other side after sorting tickets etc - they were thrilled to have done the "ferry cross the mersey"
Got to be better than council school runs ?
