They might've started out like that but with the number of outlets they have now it's just impossible for this urban myth to be true.
Beer at a busy JDW pub is probably the freshest in the country because of the volume they get through.

I pass a pub called the Betsey Wynne in Swanbourne (Bucks) every day on the way to the shop. It was for sale a while back and has been bought by a small group that has a dozen or so pubs in the area. Closed for refurbishment (not much wrong with it when I was last there) and a whole s
