UK Corporate Portal - Scam beware
Discussion
Just thought I'd flag this up to everyone as this scam appears to be back in vogue.
We're all used to deleting scm email but this one is slightly different in that they write a letter to you and it all "seems" quite legit, almost Companies House style, pretty much just asking you to confirm the details they give you and fax/email it back.
The scam is if you do they then invoice you £977 per year for 4 years to be included in their "Publication" as per the agreement you've just signed and returned!
Obviously you'd contest it but they are quite forcefully pursuing companies for the "debt"!
As I say beware, I've even heard of Accountants being caught out by it!!

You've got to be half asleep to fall for it and I can well imagine a judge throwing out a claim by the perpetrators:We're all used to deleting scm email but this one is slightly different in that they write a letter to you and it all "seems" quite legit, almost Companies House style, pretty much just asking you to confirm the details they give you and fax/email it back.

Possibly but Jurisdiction of the court is the Companies Registered country not the customers so if you were to fall from it I'm hearing Czech Republic for the hearing!https://forums.contractoruk.com/accounting-legal/1...
